Dr. Katharina Schmid
About
Dr Katharina Schmid began her career as a General Practitioner in 2015, initially working in London, UK. During her time there, she honed her skills in large teaching hospitals and busy GP practices in East London. In 2017, she returned to her hometown in Bavaria for a brief period before making the move to Sydney in 2019. With 17 years of medical experience under her belt, Dr Katharina Schmid brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice.
Her passion for promoting a healthy lifestyle as a cornerstone of well-being and longevity has always been central to her approach to medicine, both for herself and her patients. Discovering the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine’s training program felt like a perfect match for her professional philosophy. Through this specialised training, she has further enhanced her ability to provide evidence-based, individualised care, which she delivers with enthusiasm.
Dr Schmid is also dedicated to the education and mentorship of future Australian General Practitioners. She holds a Conjoint Lecturer position at the School of Population Health and Community Medicine at UNSW Medicine and regularly supervises and teaches medical students at her practice.
Outside the medical field, Dr Schmid enjoys embracing the outdoor lifestyle that Australia offers. In 2020, she earned her Bronze Medallion in Surf Lifesaving at Bondi.
