Dr Ricardo Peralta
About
Ricardo was born in El Salvador, where he completed his medical degree and psychiatry training before moving to Australia to undertake advanced training in adolescent psychiatry at the internationally renowned Orygen Youth Health in Melbourne, specialising in early interventions for young people with mental health needs.
With nearly 20 years of experience in psychiatry, including 15 years in Australia, Ricardo has an impressive track record in public mental health. He has worked with Melbourne Health at the Orygen Youth Health Clinic and later with Northern Health, where he served as the lead consultant for the youth mental health stream.
Since 2013, Ricardo has been in private practice on the Mornington Peninsula, focusing on adolescent and general adult psychiatry. He has significant experience in both face-to-face and telehealth consultations, enhancing the accessibility of mental health services in the private sector.
Outside of his professional work, Ricardo enjoys mountain biking and trail running whenever he gets the opportunity.
