Professor Boyd Swinburn is a consultant psychiatrist with interests in adult and old age psychiatry. He conducts research on community and policy actions to prevent childhood and adolescent obesity, focusing on the ‚'obesogenic‚' food environment. Professor Swinburn leads an international network (INFORMAS) monitoring food environments and food policies globally. He established the World Health Organisation's first Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention and has contributed to over 30 WHO consultations and reports on obesity. His interests also include neurostimulation treatments in psychiatry, such as Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS).
