Dr Folorunso Oyekan
About
With a broad international background in psychiatry, Folorunso Oyekan is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in both General and Addiction Psychiatry. He obtained his medical degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria and completed his psychiatric training in the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand. As a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, he integrates his diverse experience into his practice.
His areas of special interest include treating mood disorders like depression and bipolar disorder, managing psychosis and anxiety disorders such as panic disorder, OCD, and PTSD, as well as addressing grief, adjustment disorders, substance use disorders, and ADHD. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Oyekan is committed to medical education, actively involved in teaching and mentoring emerging psychiatrists.
Dr. Oyekan currently serves in the New South Wales public health system and has established a flourishing private practice.
