About
Dr. Aarielle McLaren has been serving the Southern Highlands community since 2018, following her training at the University of Wollongong and experience at Illawarra and Shoalhaven hospitals. With a strong background in both general practice and psychiatry, she has a special interest in mental health, which stems from her earlier work in psychiatry. Dr. McLaren also holds a Diploma in Child Health and is a dedicated Shared Care Antenatal Provider, demonstrating her passion for caring for women and children.
Dr. McLaren is skilled in providing skin checks and performing skin procedures, with a focus on skin cancer medicine. She is committed to ongoing education and is currently on the pathway to becoming an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor, holding multiple professional certificates, including a Certificate of Dermoscopy and an Advanced Clinical Certificate of Dermoscopy from the Skin Cancer College Australasia (SCCA). She is also a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and the International Dermoscopy Society.
As a dedicated lifelong learner, Dr. McLaren is involved in teaching and supervising medical students at the University of Wollongong and the University of Sydney, reflecting her commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. At The Practice Bundanoon, she contributes to its proud tradition as a teaching practice.
Additionally, Dr. McLaren is a visiting doctor at Warrigal Aged Care, where she has a deep affinity for aged and palliative care. She works closely with visiting specialists to ensure her residents receive comprehensive and compassionate care.
Her areas of interest include mental health, skin cancer surgery, skin checks, child health, antenatal shared care, and women's health. Dr. McLaren is fluent in English and dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centred care to her community.
